I am definitely a mom who embraces technology. You know how in school, they show you a bell curve on adoption rates on any type of change: laggards, middle, and early adopters?
Well, I'm definitely part of that early adopter phase. Do you remember when Palm Pilots were first introduced? Yep, I was one of those who got one! If you have a mom who is just as into this digital revolution with new technology and devices, this post is for you. She will ABSOLUTELY LOVE you if you consider any of these items! Wrap it under her tree, and you'll be sure to be granted favorite status (even if she doesn't play favorites).
Here's my roundup and reasons why each one makes the PERFECT gift for any mom who loves gidgets and gadgets!

Roundup of Holiday Gifts for the Technically Savvy Mom
Smart Fitness and Wearable Gifts
Apple Watch. Seriously, she needs one. With kiddos, sometimes she may lose her phone. That phone finder on the Apple Watch pays for itself! Being able to answer the phone while bathing her child is life changing. Seriously, get this! Here's my favorite place to get an Apple Watch because they often offer store cash back incentives and discounts. My second place is here because they often have amazing open box prices (that's how I got mine).
Beats Headphones. If you were living under a rock, right now is an awesome time to rock big headphones. I love mine for working out because it is wireless and has awesome audio. I have had other wireless bluetooth headphones, but these are the easiest ones to pair - especially when you are ready to work out and need it to pair quickly!
Smart Weigh Digital Bathroom Scale. This scale has a slim design and non-slip bottom, making it stylish and functional. It's is also one of the most accurate and consistent weight monitors on the market. Place the scale on a hard, level surface to ensure accuracy, then step on the scale. The LCD screen will automatically display your weight, no tapping necessary.
Smart Home Gifts and Kitchen Gadgets
Alexa. Having an updated Alexa is amazing. There are so many different types of Alexa enabled devices!
- Figure out the weather in the morning
- Play music to keep the sanity in the morning with toddlers (awesome integration with Spotify)
- Order toilet paper when it's out
- Kids asking it questions (like jokes)
- Turning on and off lights (controlling Hue lights)
- Turning on/off the television
- Adjusting the temperature
- Creating shopping lists
- Marital debates
- Playing personalized newsflash
- Impromptu dance parties
Robot Vacuum and Mop. Seriously, these are amazing. Your floors could literally be clean all the time. I love my robot mop! It is actually kind of disgusting how dirty our floors really are when I have to change the pad.
Video Monitor Door Bell. My neighborhood has a Facebook group page. Well, it's pretty stinkin hilarious. One time, a resident posted that he had a "door bell ding ditcher" that came up to his house in the middle of the night, rang the door bell and ran. He then posted the video to ths group, the kid was ID'd, tagged in the group, and let's just say a whole lot of commentary ensued. I was reading the 300+ conversation thread with a bag of popcorn.
Portable Speaker. Okay, if you don't think you'll ever use this, think again. When I was first gifted this, I thought it was kind of ridiculous because I had no idea of when I would need it without my iPhone. A few months later, I am happy to report that I use my portable speaker ALL THE TIME. We recently did Trunk-or-Treat with my kid's daycare and we played a Halloween playlist. I also used it when my kid's Girl Scout troop friends came over to decorate a parade float. Oh, in speaking about the parade float, we played music on our float as well. Trust me, she'll love this!
Steam Mop. OMG. I love this steam mop. Seriously, I don't have to put any soap or chemicals in and it magically cleans my floors with just water!! I LOVE this thing! I know, its weird to get your mom a "cleaning" machine. However, it is the most useful gift you may just give her!
Instant Pot. You can read all about it here in my blog post.
Memory Maker Gifts
DSLR. I know phone photos are nice, but having a DSLR will provide photos with more clarity! When those soccer balls start flying in the air, you want her to be able to capture that. I would recommend starting with a Canon Rebel with the cheapest 50mm lens (do not get the kits). You'll thank me later for not getting the kit, I promise!
Portable Camera. Besides your phone, she needs a better quality way to capture those moments with the family! Don't forget the tripod either!Shutteryfly Giftcard. She can use this to make memories of the family throughout the year! I have a coworker who had an amazing idea of creating a digital scrapbook page for each month throughout the year and printing the book at the beginning of the year! How awesome is that?!
Baby Monitor. So I bought the Foscam thinking that I'd love having it play over the internet and being able to spy on my cleaning ladies at all time while also being a baby monitor. It's not so great as a baby monitor because I have to have my phone on all the time and it constantly dings. So I have to turn it on after it dings whereas an actual baby monitor will make sounds and show the video. I raved about the Foscam at first, but alas, I returned it. I sitll use this baby monitor. I love it when the girls are talking in their rooms, and I can spy on their conversations because the video turns right on! You can even record what they are saying for posterity sake!
I hope this provides you some ideas for that technology loving momma in your life! What do you plan on getting her? Follow me on Facebook @Sengerson for more posts like this!
