13+ Craft Room Makeover with Affordable Ikea Furniture

In this post, I wanted to share some of the BEST ideas for a craft room using Ikea craft room furniture. This is a roundup from some of my favorite bloggers that feature their spaces that you can get inspiration from.

If you have ever daydreamed of having a creative space that is not only beautiful, but complete with your crafting supplies organized in an affordable way, I hope that you’ll take away some amazing ideas from some of these craft spaces that were made over.

These spaces were decorated with Ikea furniture which includes table tops, cabinets, and storage.

Ikea has so many different furniture options to make a crafting space functional. I know that for me to be most effective and efficient during crafting, my space needs to be uncluttered, yet still have all of my crafting supplies, materials, and tools in their spaces.

After about a decade in my own home, I’ve been able to accumulate a few pieces from Ikea here and there.

Why Ikea Furniture is Great for Craft Spaces

Ikea furniture is affordable and some of their pieces are absolutely amazing for a craft room makeover. Some of the pieces they have provide great storage for crafting supplies.

Not only are they affordable, provide efficient use of space, and good looking, they are also amazingly easy to customize. They’ve got various options that make it easy to customize and get exactly what you need for your craft space.

You’ll often find posts about Ikea hacks surrounding taking super affordable Ikea furniture and leveling them up into beautiful masterpieces you didn’t even think was even possible. 

Below, I’m going to share with you how some bloggers have transformed Ikea furniture and made them into amazing storage pieces that are not only functional, but absolutely stunning spaces.

Ikea Linnmon Table Top for Craft Room

This table top comes in about three sizes and multiple colors. These table tops are so versatile. You can choose to add different legs, including rolling legs! I actually use the Linnmon table top to hold my big two Apple theater monitors: Ikea Linnmon Table Top

Alex Drawer Unit on Coasters for Organizing Crafting Supplies

I absolutely LOVE these Alex drawer units. I have three of these in my craft space. One holds my Silhouette, another holds my Cricut, and the other has my heat press bolted on it. It provides so much storage and is wide enough to hold a ton of supplies: Alex Drawer Unit on Coasters

Kallax Unit

Kallax units allow you to have an open, tall storage that allows you to make the most of a single space. I use this to hold all of my scrapbooking albums, crafting papers. On top, I use some paper storage for any additional knick knacks as well: Ikea Kallax Unit

Plastic Bag Dispenser to Hold Crafting Rolls

These plastic bag dispensers have a different purpose other than holding plastic bags – they can hold gift wrapping paper, vinyl rolls, and so much more! The possibilities are endless: Ikea Variera

Sektion Wall Cabinet Frame for Craft Room Storage

Corner Craft Storage Using Ikea Steel Kitchen Organizers

I absolutely love how Polished Habitat made use of a corner craft storage area inside their guest room. I love how the steel bars are used to hold crafting scissors and other supplies! While these organizers are generally used in the kitchen, they are awesome for crafting spaces as well.

Colorful Basement Office and Craft Space

Stephanie’s space in her basement features an amazingly beautiful and colorful room. You can’t help but be inspired in a space like this. I LOVE the gold legs she put on these Alex cabinets!

I absolutely LOVE Reality Daydream’s wall of crafting storage. I am sure you can find pieces from Ikea to match her DreamBox.

Ikea Guest Room Office

I absolutely love this guest room / office Ikea space by Shrimp Salad Circus. If you don’t have an extra room to spare, she shows you how add a standing desk from Ikea to save space and make the room appear bigger than it is.

I love Carla Schauer’s organization and makeover of her craft space. This creative studio makeover has all of her supplies, materials, and tools organized in a beautiful way. Who wouldn’t be inspired after being in this amazingly organized space?
