Today, I am finally revealing to you our master bedroom. It's been in the making for the last four years, AND it is still not done yet.
As you know, we've had four kids between the time we purchased the house and this blog post. WHOA, I know. Who has time for home makeovers, am I right?
Slowly, but surely, we've been replacing pieces, buying pieces and making over some other ones.
Here are the before photos from the previous owners. I like how their furniture's wood color lightened and brightened the room. However, We had a lot of holes to cover up with all of their blinds and wall decor!

I took a quick snap of what our master bedroom looked like before the hubs dismantled the bed for the new one. This dark wood dresser and bed set was the first one I purchased right out of college. It has lasted me a decade. To me, I lucked out because it still had good bones. I actually reused the dresser and nightstand, but sold the footboard and headboard on Craigslist.

Here's another view. Don't mind the baby and the television!

Here's the new look! Yes, it is all things cream, white and linen! Here's our master bed. I have my sofa from Pier 1 Imports there!

I wanted to have a secretary's desk for a nightstand. When the kids go down for bed, I'm always working a little later when it's nice and quiet. I love how I can just hop into bed when I'm done!

The secretary's desk is from Ballard Designs. The lamp is from good 'ol Target. Those curtains are custom made from an Etsy shop using fabric that I purchased and sent!

And this chair, let me tell you about this chair. I splurged a little bit on this chair at Home Goods. It's like a unicorn - I love it so much - with the distressed wood, sequins and patterned velvet!
Here's Ryan side of the bed.

Can I tell you about our bed fiasco? I had my heart set on a wing back headboard. I got it from the AtHome Stores, but I didn't necessarily like their footboard.

I also wanted some underbed storage, which we purchased at Ikea. However, I didn't realize that the wingback would cover the back two storage areas. Oh well.

The front two work though!

Here's the area facing our bed:
I also got the baskets below from Home Goods. I love how I can hide the kids clothes (because they come down in the morning and love to get dressed in my room instead of theirs) and other knick knacks!

And of course, we have the forbidden television! I know we shouldn't have one in the bedroom, but we need practicality in our lives right now!

Did you notice I painted the nightstand and dresser white? I used m chalk paint concoction - it was an easy weeknight project!
