In this post, I'm sharing with you all the things you need to know about finding the best infusible ink blanks for your Cricut machine.
There are a ton of projects you can make with your Cricut Joy, Cricut Explore, and Cricut Maker using Cricut Infusible Ink. I get a lot of questions on what types of materials and supplies you need in order to put this infusible ink on.
I wanted to share with you the best sources on where to get your hands on these blanks so that you can start your next project. When I have time to craft, I love having blanks on hand to ensure that I'm not having to make a special stop at a store or have to wait on a mail carrier to drop off my online order.

While all of us have our favorite places to shop for vinyl-ready blanks, infusible ink blanks are harder to come by. Why? The reason is because infusible ink requires blanks with a special type of material in order to infuse the ink so it blends into the material.

What is infusible ink?
Infusible ink is an ink transfer product that allows you to create professional looking projects that are seamless, peel-proof, flake-proof, and wash proof. Infusible ink transfers allow projects to infuse the base material with the ink to allow for smooth, professional-grade quality to any project.

Do you have to use Cricut blanks with infusible ink?
While Cricut recommends using Cricut blanks with the infusible ink logo, infusible ink can be used with other non-Cricut blanks. Cricut only guarantees the results on their blanks, but there are off-brand blanks that can be used with infusible ink.
Keep in mind that for things like mugs and phone cases, due to their shape, will need a special heat process or heat source when infusing the ink. You may not want to choose a mug or phone case as your first project!

What makes a good blank for using Cricut infusible ink?
When choose a blank to use Cricut infusible ink on, you'll need to ensure the blank has a high percentage of polyester or have a polymer coating. If you want more vibrant and bright colors, make sure that the blank has a high percentage of polyester. If it has 80% polyester material, you can be assured that it will work.
In addition, you should choose a blank that is lighter in color. This will allow the colors to come through the blank. Dark colors won't allow the colors of the infusible ink to come through.
Problems Using Non-Cricut Infusible Blanks
While part of the fun of crafting is experimenting and DIYing things through trial and error, sometimes you want to know what you might be faced with if you don't want to fork over the money for the brand name stuff.
If you do decide to use off-brand blanks with Cricut Infusible Ink, a few problems that you can run into include:
- Infusible ink won't adhere to the blank
- Design looking great initially, but fading and changing over time.
- Not knowing the right amount of heat to apply to the blank.

Best Tips for the Great Results with Your Blanks
- Cut your infusible ink sheet to make it easier to position your blank material.
- Use heat-resistant tape so that your sheet does not move around.
- During the pressing process, do not allow the sheet to shift on the blank or you'll get double vision on your material.
- Allow the transfer sheet to completely cool before removing because it is going to be radiating heat and may cause colors to shift to other parts of the blank.

Best Products for Using Infusible Ink
These are all the products in the Cricut Infusible Ink Product Line
Infusible Ink Pen - 30 Pack
This is where you can find the best deals for these infusible ink markers. On sale, they can be as low as $29.99.
JiffyShirt.com - Polyester Blend
This is the online shop where I buy ALL of my shirts that I custom make at home. It's affordable and has free shipping if you spend over a certain amount.
Heat Press
I've gone through a lot of irons and heat presses, but this is the one that I absolutely love. I almost got rid of it because I did not bolt it down. Bolting it down is extremely important in getting the pressure right and to allow the arm to move.

These colors do not come in the big bundle. There are several others that do not come in the bundle, and I've included it in the list above.
Infusible Ink Transfer Paper
This is where you can find the infusible ink paper inexpensively. I've honestly tried to look at other places to buy online, but Cricut has the best deals on their products - especially when you sign up for their newsletter to be aware of their sales and deals.
