The focal point for any bathroom is the vanity and sink cabinetry. While it is all the rage to update your vanity with a beautiful sink, what's more important is the storage that it can provide.
When you choose the finish and the style of a bathroom vanity, what you choose helps sets the tone of the entire room. If you are looking for a modern farmhouse bathroom vanity, I've rounded up some of my favorites to give you that look.
To give you that fixer upper style vibe of modern, yet rustic, you'll want to choose a farmhouse style vanity that has clean lines.
While you can always DIY your own bathroom vanity to get that customized look, sometimes you just need to buy something that is already well designed and just have it installed!
First, I want to share with you the various stores that I would shop at to upgrade my old, dingy vanity and exchange it for the french cottage style bathroom vanity.

Sources for Affordable Farmhouse Bathroom Vanity
Here are some of my favorite sources and places I check out before shopping for bathroom vanity upgrades. If you are looking to save some money and get some cheap renovation supplies, these are my absolute favorite sources for affordable decor.
Houzz. Houzz does not only curate beautiful designs for your home, but they also have a feature where they've curated the best list of home decor I have ever seen.
Home Depot. Home Depot has an amazing collection of beautiful farmhouse bathroom cabinets, especially for those who are wanting to DIY their own installation.
Lowes. I absolutely love Lowes because they have gorgeous stock of inventory of barnwood bathroom vanities that are absolutely gorgeous. You won't be able to find a better combination of both value and design.
Birch Lane. I absolutely love Birch Lane's collection. I feel like its a level down from Pottery Barn, but without the crazy price tag. They are a sister site to Wayfair, which I also love because they have a gorgeous collection of french farmhouse bathroom vanities as well.
Overstock. I feel like their name does them a disservice. It's not just overstock items, they have a ton of amazingly gorgeous bathroom vanity sinks that are not "overstock", rather it's just inventory stock they have! I know that sound weird, but literally, it's like inventory stock like any other store!
Menards. I aboslutely love Menards because of their value. While I will often go and leave with nothing, there are times when I find an amazing score when I was just window shopping. You might check them out first before exploring all the others!
Sutherlands. If you don't have one of these in your town, you are missing out! They are literally the cheaper brother of Home Depot. That's pretty much all I have to stay about that!
Sources for Luxury Bathroom Vanities
Now, if you are in a spot where you can afford to spend a little more than average for a new bathroom vanity, my favorite place to purchase them are Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, and Signature Hardware.
For someone like me, those vanities are typically out of my price range. If I had gazillions of dollars to spend, I might be able to cough up that much money for a new vanity.
Considerations When Choosing Modern Farmhouse Bathroom Vanities
Modern farmhouse homes characteristically have light and airy tones with light grays, soft pinks, mild tans, dusty blues and olive greens.
Cabinetry typically has the natural tones or are painted white. Modern styles may darken the color to black. In addition, white wash and gray wash are popular in current design trends.
In a modern farm home design, you'll want to ensure that your farmhouse powder room or bathroom centerpiece is your vanity (unless its a full bathroom, then the focal point becomes the freestanding bathtub).
Farmhouse sink bathroom vanities typically have a porcelain pedestal sink. Now that you know the style, here are some other considerations for having a modern farmhouse style bathroom vanity for your home.
Saving Space
You can combine your bathroom sink and makeup vanity into a single cabinet! One way you could do this is to have large drawers and cupboards combine into one space!
Focal point being the countertop or sink
While every one loves havign space, a beautiful countertop can act like the main star of the show if you include marble countertops or even copper faucet accents!
Doing things in pairs
If you have a busy morning routine, if you have a bathroom that can accommodate it, you can have two spaces to get ready at one time! By having a bathroom vanity that holds enough for each person and allowing them to have their own space, you can make morning time routines a lot faster.

Opening Shelving Concept
When you allow for open shelving to be displayed, what you are doing is essentially ushering in simplicity. You are allowing your family to store important bathroom products, while also hiding away all the unnecessary items. Open shelves can also be used to keep bath towels and face towels at bay.
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall
You can also make your mirror the focal point of the room. Find a room that is Anthropology-esque or provide that rustic, modern twist on an hold farmhouse. The goal would be mixing wood with weathered textured elements like galvanized decor or iron made accessories.
