For the initial phase of removing wood chips, a handheld vacuum works wonders to remove the larger pieces so you don’t have to remove them by hand. It won’t do every single piece of mulch, but it gets the larger pieces out of the way.
Using Heavy Duty Duct Tape to Remove Mulch from Fleece
Cut a foot long piece of heavy duct tape, and roll it around your hand to make a circular shape, sticky side facing out. You can use this to pat the areas with the wood chips to remove them, as if you are using a cloth to blot a liquid spill or stain.
Plastic Comb to Remove Wood Chips from a Sherpa Clothing
Using a firm plastic comb (none of the cheap ones that bend) will allow you to to remove the wood chimps easily. You can also use the previously mentioned duct tape to remove them from the bristles when they are combed out.
Metal Lice Nit Brush to Remove Mulch from Fuzzy Clothing
I know, this sounds gross, but it does work. It’s a metal brush originally intended to remove lice, but works wonders in getting wood chips out of sherpa fleece. Be careful not to brush it all the way through the sherpa. The goal with a this metal brush is to allow you to comb it to near the middle so you can remove it by hand.
Lint Roller to Get Wood Chips Out of Clothes
Lint rollers made with extra tackiness (often labeled to remove pet hair) can also be used to remove wood chips from your fleece clothing. It’s a great way to remove the last remaining chips out of your clothing.
Tweezers for Removing Wood Splinters Out of Jackets
Good tweezers are a great option to get the final, minute mulch pieces out of your clothing. This will allow you to look at smaller pieces rather than potentially risking the chance of getting a splinter.
Dull, Old Knife Blade to Get Stuff Out of Sherpa
If all else fails, you can use a knife blade to allow you to scrape the wood chips off of the sherpa fleece. This makes getting the mulch out easier!
Bur Removal Stone for the Last College Try
You can order one of these bur removal stones that are typically used to remove burs from clothing, but can also be used to get wood chips out of a sherpa jacket.
