With my first year of being a scout troop leader behind me, I’m looking forward to preparing to do more with my girls this upcoming academic season! The girls in my troop next year will range from Kindergarten to first grade. For some, our first camping trip as a troop will be a new experience for them! As such, I’m often in need of supplies and equipment for the troop to make it an awesome experience.

I love the thought of camping with the girls! To make things more comfortable for my girls, we’re going to do kid-friendly camping. It is a sure fire way to get the girls excited about camping and slowly get acclimated for their first time camping. My girls are showing off how we will be camping in style this upcoming academic school year – dresses and all!

You don’t need to spend a lot to get kid-friendly camping at it’s finest. It will allow little scouts to experience the great outdoors with the many comforts of home!  Here are the four things you could consider getting for a group of girls camping for the first time!

Shelter

Ensuring that you have the right tent and canopy will make or break your stay. Having the proper space for comfy living space is a must! You’ll need to make sure you have a shelter for sleeping and hanging out to support all the food and fun you’ll be having.

You should definitely ensure that you pick a tent big enough to fit everyone, but that would also allow you to have room so that you are not crouching down constantly.

Also, using a Coleman® Instant Canopy with Sunwall will ensure that you will have an easy setup and ensure shelter from the rain and wind to hang out in.

P.S. This is also a great canopy to use if you are wanting to do a photoshoot in bright sun – it is spacious enough to take photos with the right amount of shade with the attached sunwall.

Here’s the pull back of the scene:

A Good Night’s Sleep

For little girls, a good night’s sleep is important so that they can have a great time the next morning after waking up.

Coupling the Coleman® CozyFoot™ Sleeping Bag with an airbed will bring the creature comforts of home to the wilderness.

Going one step further, you can add bedding, pillows and sheets to make your camping trip that much cozier!

Make sure that you pack up the girls slippers and pajamas to make it feel like home.

The Coleman® CozyFoot™ Sleeping Bag is so soft inside.

The outer material is water resistant to kids spilling drinks, water, rain and mud.

Lighting

Having fun twinkly lights in the tent while you are surrounded by nature’s native twinkly stars brings the magic of camping to life! Packing a few battery operated lighting strings will bring wonderment to their little faces!

Having a few lanterns around the campfire also makes for a fun night!

Furniture

You won’t want to have your girls eating s’mores on the ground or resting it on their lap. Bring a camping table and chair to put underneath the canopy and designate it as the spot to get food. This will ensure that all the girls know where to get the food!

Check out Target’s line of Coleman products to plan your own kid-friendly camping experience! Use the Cartwheel offer to save more on the Coleman products.
