With three under four – comprising of a three year old who loves snacks, a four year old who wants to carry markers everywhere, and a newborn that needs diapers, wipes, change of clothes – well, I’ve been in search of a diaper bag that will allow me room to carry all of their essentials. My previous diaper bags from my last two babies have been worn to shreds. The lining has been torn up and stained from apple sauce, formula, Vaseline, and any other fluid you can think of.
I need a bag that has the ability for me to “clean” it somehow or make it easy for me to clean. Not only that, when I return to work in about three months, I need the ability to have that bag transform into a bag that doesn’t scream diaper bag into the corporate office.
Drum roll . . .
I’ve finally stumbled upon the perfect bag – the Elizabeth by Lily Jade (the one pictured is Brandy/Gold). This bag is not only gorgeously and beautifully constructed, but highly functional. Lily Jade’s entire line of bags incorporates a “baby bag” portion for organizing anything and everything!!! It comes with a diaper changing pad!! I can take out the “baby bag” portion when I don’t need the kids stuff with me. I know that the bags aren’t specific to photographers, but I plan on using this during my photography sessions to carry all of my photo gear including lenses and memory cards!
As a mom of three, I’ll be on the go a lot with no hands to spare. What’s awesome about this bag is that it easily transforms into a backpack…what?! Yes please. The leather on this bag is beyond gorgeous!
After maternity leave, I plan on using this bag as my purse/pumping bag. This has been a hard feat in the past with other bags. My goal was to not only minimize the number of bags I take into work (fearing being called bag lady), I wanted to have a bag that didn’t scream “look I’m going to pump” with the well branded Medela yellow/black purses. I know, I should be proud to show that off, but I want to be more discrete about what I’m “off to go do”.
As you can see, this bag will fit my laptop bag, my Medela Freestyle Pump as well as all of the accessories, and my wallet!
When I’m not at work, I can just take those items out and slip in the “baby bag” with my kids essentials. Easy peasy! I might just buy another “baby bag” specifically to have my photo gear and pump essentials also “ready to go” and slip in!
