Paint Stripes REALLY Straight

BEGINNER TIPS

If you are looking for a way to paint your striped walls, here are some directions and tips to get them CRISP and straight.

Supplies for Painting Straight Lines 

FrogTape Measuring Tape Pencil

Ladder

Step 1

Decide on contrasting, but complementary paint colors

Step 2

Measure wall height and length to determine stripes

Step 3

Paint walls with the base paint color (generally lighter color)

Step 4

Mark up walls with divided measurements for stripes

Step 5

Carefully place the correct edges of the paint on the tick marks (see post for  detailed tips)

Step 6

Paint over tape with base paint

Step 7

Use other paint color to paint alternating stripe patterns

Step 8

Peel off painters tape carefully while still moist

Step 9

Allow paint to dry for 48 hours to cure
