Are you looking for ideas on making a glamorous pink and gold nursery? Here is an idea for you for some inspiration.
Its been six months since moving into our new house, and we are slowly, but surely, making this house our home. The girls' rooms are pretty much done now.
Room ideas were hard for me...that is until I found an awesome site called houzz.com. You put in a couple of keywords, and pictures come up. They tag the photos with where the products were purchased. I mean, how easy is that?
So, Aubrey's room was modeled after this room. It just so happened that we have the exact crib set. How awesome! I was going for a glamorous pink and gold nursery that would grow old with her!
This is what the room look liked before. Ryan patched up the walls - and he was sooo anal about it. It took him about a week to finish just patching! The people that originally lived in the house appeared to have "repainted" certain areas - and the walls were like two toned patches that look like they had discolored or something.
Also, this room was hard to arrange furniture because it had TWO slopes right next to the window. I rearranged this room a couple of times until the furniture was able to make the room look huge. The pictures make the walls look "salmon-y", put it looks so pretty in person. A deep, mauve pink color called "porphyry pink".
Okay, so those curtains - I made those. I did one curtain faux pas. Apparently, when you create drapery - the curtain has to go all the way down to the floor or pool at the floor. It's 4 inches too short. Oh well. Did you also know there are different types of curtain rods? These are traverse rods that I got on Overstock.com.
The chandelier was also from Overstock.com. The round mirror is from Hobby Lobby (40% off coupon). The photos above the diaper changing table are from Etsy.com. I purchased the mats online and the frames at Hobby Lobby. So much cheaper putting it together yourself!
That would be the Aubster in the photo. The pink blanket was made by their great great grandmother - its a family heirloom that I had to incorporate in the room!
