This coming Thursday, Ryan and I celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary. If I’m being completely honest, I have no idea how we have lasted this long 🙂
We are total and complete opposites, as my friends would tell you (and Ryan too).
He’s a wanna be country bumpkin, I’m a city girl. He’s very patient, I’m very impatient. He’s an outdoorsy guy, I’m a homebody gal. He’s the money saver, I’m the spender. He really doesn’t like managing household finances, I love it.
With our differences, its probably obvious that we have lots heated “discussions”. From “Ryan, can’t you just put your shoes away in the right spot?!!” to “Seng, why can’t you close the lid on everything!!??” Our arguments get pretty intense.
What we do have in common is that we are really stubborn. To the couples who never go to bed angry, I’m pretty envious. I go to bed mad, a lot. I’m not one to say sorry a lot (or ever), and neither is he. Which is completely opposite of what marriage rules tell you to do.
But somehow, even with all of our differences and stubbornness, we just work. He’s my rock. When I have a bad day at work, he lends me an ear (or pretends to). He’s really great with the girls (when he’s not falling asleep – inside joke). He’s a better cook than me (except for Asian food). He helps make pretty cute babies (75% of that is me though). Most of all, he’s a great husband and my best friend.
Ryan – I know I’m a little crazy. You are probably the only one who could probably put up with me. For that, thank you. Also, since I can’t get you to sit down and watch our wedding video (that we argued about even getting), I posted a few highlights. I won’t say its the best day of my life because (cheesy warning) every day gets better and better with you!!
