My husband and I agreed to do family sessions (real ones) at 6 months and at 12 months for each of the girls. Looking back on Ansley, I'm glad I did. They grow up way too fast! And I want to capture those fleeting moments.
Alea Lovely, who was our wedding photographer, does all of our family photos. We just love her! And we love her artistry. To be honest, I stole the idea from one of my friend photographers, Cassandra Castaneda Photography, because she did her own family photos with Alea Lovely at Longview Mansion as well. Its a gorgeous venue. If only it were a tad bit warmer, we could have gotten a shot in front of the beautiful building. With two babies in a photo session, you can bet that I couldn't remember what shots I really wanted. Alea did an amazing job anyway!
Grandma was able to help us with keeping the girls calm - a big thank you goes out to her. We incorporated in the video some heirloom pieces. The blue hats were knitted by their Great Grandma. Aubrey's pink crochet blanket was made by their Great Great Grandma. Ansley's gold bracelet was from her other Grandma. These girls are so loved, its unreal. A big thank you goes out to Grandma for helping us with the babies on the photoshoot!
I got Ansley's dress and both of their hair pieces from Etsy Store - Kailyn Zoe and Co. Aubrey's dress was a great find at Babies R Us. In the video, their "Tarzan" outfits were from their favorite Auntie Janny, purchased at Children's Place.
Here are the shots that I will be printing and hanging throughout my house. I plan on DIY'ing the framing and posting directions. Scroll down past the photos for Aubrey's video session!
Lastly, here's the video for Aubrey's half year milestone:
