So, I’ll admit it. Sometimes, my kids brush their teeth only at night! Ah, I’m THAT MOM! I know, totally goes against healthy teeth habits. I was on a mission to find a better way to convince them to brush their teeth both in the morning and at night. Especially since they just experienced their “childhood firsts” of getting ice cream from the neighborhood ice cream truck! Hello cavities!
To be honest, the only struggle I’ve ever had with their routine of brushing their teeth was when they started brushing their teeth. After about two weeks of daily brushing, the girls actually started to like it. I think mainly because it allows them an excuse to stay up a little later. However, on the opposite end of the spectrum, our morning routine sometimes causes us to forget about cleaning their little chompers in the morning.
I will say that it took time for them to learn how not to swallow the toothpaste. I’ve always had this fear that my girls could possibly consume too many chemicals in the toothpaste that they shouldn’t be ingesting. I try to ensure that the products that I buy have natural ingredients with no artificial dyes or sweeteners.
I’ve recently discovered Tom’s of Maine® toothpaste and other personal hygiene products. They are a company that is focused on intentionally creating products that are made of natural ingredients and have a motto of “Start Young. Live Green™”. Which is totally in line with my need for natural ingredients in the products I buy!
The girls love the Silly Strawberry® and I can rest easy knowing that its made of natural ingredients. Now the girls remind me that they need to brush their teeth both in the morning and at night!
It may me being overprotective, but I just try to ensure that the products I buy for my family to consume are as “clean” as they get. Tom’s of Maine® products help my initiative.
In addition, I also bought some for my gym bag because for whatever reason, I have bad breath after working out. I’m sure my coworkers will be happy about this.
What natural choices do you make for your family?
I love the simple ingredients of that toothpaste, you are making me want to go try it! And brushing my kids teeth is such a hassle for me haha. But it’s nice as they get older, they can brush their own teeth!

Life is Beautiful
When my daughter begin brushing her teeth, we made the switch to Tom’s of Maine. My kids both actually like the mint flavor because it’s much milder than other mint-flavored toothpastes. #client
