As a newly minted mom of three, I think I’ve got packing my diaper bag down to a science. These days, I only carry the essentials. Now, I’m pretty good about only carrying the things that are the essentials. Gone are the five toys I packed for baby.
I have two purses that I regularly interchange out. You can read about them here and here. I feel like my purse/bag must be versatile enough to change quickly to become whatever utility it is for that moment. For example, the moment when I go from work bag (with laptop) to an impromptu date bag (sans laptop) with the hubs.
These days, our date night really are date lunches. I feel like on our date nights, we are constantly thinking about our kids and getting home to see them. Now, Ryan and I will have make a point to have lunch together on the off chance that one of us is on vacation and one of us is working – which means the kids are typically at school/daycare. I much prefer date lunches over date night because I don’t have to worry about whether or not the kids will be out of the routine when we go pick them up! For the two of us, we’ve made “date lunch” work for us on a semi-regular basis.
Today, I’m sharing with you what I carry in my bag for these impromptu work to date lunch!
Notebook and pen for random notes. There are times when I need to jot down a note and my phone to do list is just not cutting it. Its always nice to have something physical to write on.
Planner (used as a wallet). I may have to do a deeper dive on this planner one day, but I love it. It carries all of my debit cards, credit cards, health cards, store card. Everyone makes fun of me for carrying something so bulky, but I love it!
ChapStick Total Hydration. This is made with argan oil and avocado butter. It is also clinically proven for healthier looking lips – a must for the winter!
Is your diaper bag the same as your purse and work bag? If yes, what do you pack? Check out what others pack for their date night (or in my case, lunch).
