Quick and Easy Medicine Organization Idea

This weekend was a complete blur! We tried landscaping our front lawn with a four year old screaming for her dad to “get her” with the watering hose, a three year old learning how to ride a tricycle down our sloping driveway, and a 10 month old trying to eat a dead worm in our flowerbed.

Needless to say, our front flower bed is still a hot mess.

As part of our spring cleaning ritual, I had the urge to clean out our cupboards. At this stage in our life, I feel like its a lot easier to get things organized inside the house than outside the house because I can put pillow barriers everywhere. For parents of multiple kids out there, I’m sure you can relate!

I knew that I would have to tackle each cupboard in an iterative fashion because the kids would probably not let me have 4 hours to do a full cleanse! I decided to start with the kids’ bathrooms and getting medications and other remedies organized.

When one of my children get sick, I’m always scrounging around to find their medications, thermometers, or bandages. I have a huge basket that just has all of the items I just listed in a jumbled mess. In that basket, you could probably find a stockpile of past prescriptions, creams, swabs and expired medication.

I also wanted to include items that I use regularly, like the new Little Remedies® Probiotic Plus Electrolyte.

The girls can get a probiotic and electrolyte to help support hydration! (This statement has not been evaluated by the food and drug administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.) With no artificial flavors, artificial dyes or parabens, Little Remedies® is a brand that I can trust. Target has an offer where you can buy 1 Little Remedies product and get a $5 Target Gift Card offer between 4/24 and 5/14! You can find it in the digestive aisle (not the baby section).

If you have a jumbled medicine cabinet, you can follow these EASY instructions to organize your own medication cabinet.

On my weekly trip to Target, I found one of these three drawer organization totes that have slide outs.

They come in about three different sizes, so I’m sure you could find one that would fit your cabinet.

With a black felt marker, I made some labels out of some address stickers I had laying around.

I stuck it on each of the slide out drawers. After sorting through all of the medications, bandages and other ailments, I organized each of the drawers.

It was pretty quick work, and I didn’t have to fret about not getting it done (and having meds just sitting out due to some kid interruptions).

Organization doesn’t have to be hard.

Sometimes, you don’t have time to print out pretty fancy labels. Just get ‘er done.
