I am so excited for this holiday season! Ansley and Aubrey are just the right age where there is excitement and awe in their voices when they hear us talk about the holidays!
With a new baby brother this year…
my plan is to get them a set of gifts and presents that teach them about taking care of babies. The other day, I asked my oldest daughter about a set of twin boys that went to daycare with them. I don’t know why I found it so funny, but when my four year old stated the obvious, I couldn’t help but laugh. “Mommy, they look like each other and I can’t ever tell them a part,” she said with a frustrated wrinkle on her forehead.
Anyway, I love that this just happened last week because I’m now sharing one of the gifts that I have planned for my girls – American Girl Bitty Twins for Christmas!
I love the fact that I can now have a teachable moment that twins aren’t just identical, but can be fraternal too! I got them the Boy/Girl set – so I can’t wait to see how they will react to them! It comes with a cute book to introduce them to it.
I also love that I can choose dolls that look like THEM! Its so important to teach them the uniqueness of EVERYONE around them, and these dolls start those conversations earlier!
I know that Ansley has this motherly instinct already, so she will definitely be carrying this baby EVERYWHERE. Maybe for her birthday, I’ll get her the MATCHING outfit to this doll!
And Aubs – well, let’s just say that this is her chance to showcase her baby handling skills. The book teaches about sharing – and my girls need a dose of learning in that area with each other.
The only thing I now have to think about is whether I leave this “unwrapped” so it looks like Santa brought it or if I wrap it up and tell them I got it for them?!
