Guys, I can’t believe that we’ve hit my eight year blog anniversary. This blog was born on December 17, 2009. From the very start, it was a personal blog that then transformed into an amazing photography business. That then spiral into a lifestyle blog because my friends and clients always asked me about all the things that we were documenting in our personal blog, so it kind of made sense to morph it into one.
It’s crazy to think that I started all of this due to my husband asking me if I wanted a DSLR for Christmas one year. I love how this blog is older than my kids and has allowed me to share everything with YOU! From being a blog that allowed me to meet with some amazing families in Kansas City to document their life journey through the lens to working with some amazing brands on home decor projects to sharing some of our trials and tribulations of home DIY projects and kid’s craft projects gone wrong to sharing what it’s really like to have four kids under one roof – this blog has been something I never could have imagined.
If you would have told me that I could make a little bit of money to buy things to make our home pretty while sharing what I would have anyway for FREE eight years ago, I would have laughed in your face. It has afforded me the opportunity to furnish my house (while socking my real income into kids future college education and our retirement). Most importantly, it’s connected me with an amazing community of other bloggers (who I call friends) and also readers and local store owners! This blog has made this big ‘ol world a lot smaller.
What I LOVE the most about this blog is that it provides me a chance to connect with others who are going through the same journey – whether its a quick DIY project in suburbia, figuring out tips and tricks on how to efficiently manage a home, or being a photographer capturing memories for other moms – I love that it provides me a place to share all of that and learn along with you!
While I have been inconsistent over the last eight years creating blog posts (life happens when you also work full-time), you have probably noticed there have been spurts where I post was posting daily! It’s cyclical for me really – demands on home life, career life and blogging ebb and flows through the seasons.
This blog has gone through quite the evolution. One of the things I wanted to share with you is how our logo has evolved over time. While the name “Sengerson” (which is a combination of my first name and my married last name) has always been there from the beginning, the tag line has morphed quite a bit.
When I started in 2009, I created my own logo. I know, I’m not a graphic designer, but we were saving for a wedding!
Then in 2011, I wanted to incorporate a heart into it. I liked pink and hearts …
2014 was when I decided to combine my personal blog with my photography website. With the website overhaul, I was trying to figure out how best to represent my first name. So, I went back to a DIY logo.
In early 2015, I decided to do another overhaul, but keep the heart! This was also a result of a website revamp.
So, now, I want to reveal to you all my newest logo that I plan on incorporating in a few weeks after my website revamp. This time, I wanted to incorporate rose gold and my newest tag line. Rose gold and keeping with the heart theme…
I know, it’s quite the evolution!
In closing, I just wanted to thank you for being on this journey with me as I grow. I love sharing with you all everything that’s going on, and please know how much I appreciate all the comments and follows!
