I had this post all written out an hour ago before publishing. But I had to do a last minute edit. Why? Well, when I went upstairs to do a final check on the girls tonight, this is what I find (I SWEAR I did not prop this bear or anything). My heart melts:

Usually, Aubrey is either sleeping on TOP of the blankets or she's got her face in the corner of the crib with her butt up in the air.
Now back to the post . . .
Aubrey just turned one a few weeks ago. As always, I’m nuts and I have to go overboard (to the dismay of Ryan). Like Ansley, I HAD TO HAVE Aubrey’s cake smash captured on video. I mean, she only turns one ONCE 🙂
The night before our scheduled shoot, I was worried that it was going to rain. And, the day of the shoot, it did. Sad face. We were supposed to do the photos/videos in a beautiful field, but because of the rain, we had to make due with the indoor scenery at the beautiful farm owned by Rak Designs, who also provided the furniture pieces for the shoot. Cassandra Castaneda was our photographer and Alea Lovely was our videographer, both very talented and gifted. As you can see from the photos, they did an incredible job despite the rain!
In addition to the rain, it was also a hot day, so the cake melted in the car! When I initially picked up the cake, it had a beautiful lavender cream on the side….which obviously melted. But, that’s okay, she was going to smash it anyway. Thank you to Amazing Cake for the yummy cake!
The second set of photos was by me, Sengerson Photography, where I styled the shoot with a lavender theme with purple and grey balloons. And, yes, I made that tutu. The DIY instructions for the chiffon tutu can be found here. Isn’t she adorable?
To Aubrey:
You are a beautiful little girl and you have a special place in my heart. If I could think of four words that describe you in this moment in time, those words would be: beautiful, quiet, sweet, and fun. You are definitely my "easy" child. You are pretty passive to most things, but when you want something, you sure know what to do to get it. You love: patty cake, jumping in the middle of a pile of comforters, making Ansley laugh, running to get the mail during our nightly walks, and warm milk.
I love you SO very much. I feel as though I blinked, and you turned one. One day, when you look back at this crazy blog of mine, where I’ve tried to capture these fleeting moments that make me giggle, you’ll know how much I love and have loved you.
Love, Mom
P.S. I also wanted you to know I got 100+ chigger bites from taking photos of your cute little face.
