Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away, and it’s getting me super excited because I’m going to see a lot of my extended family soon! In the last few years, our extended family has grown tremendously! What that also means is that we’re going to have guests into our homes, which to me means pre-cleaning and organizing! I believe that fall cleaning is just as important as spring cleaning to get your home prepped for family gatherings!

Since we’ve been stopping by Home Depot frequently to grab supplies for our basement renovation (yes, it is STILL NOT DONE), I conveniently stock up on cleaning supplies too. Here are some of my favorites that I stock up on before Thanksgiving gatherings to get a head start on cleaning as well as an awesome inexpensive DIY Thanksgiving wall art tutorial project that you can make to welcome your guests!

Favorite Products to Prep for Thanksgiving Gatherings

Windex® Original Glass Cleaner works great on glass, mirrors, counters stove tops, appliances and so much more. With it’s patented ingredient, Ammonia-D®, Windex® Original Glass Cleaner starts working on dirt and grime left by those little fingerprints often left behind.

I also use Pledge® Lemon Clean and Pledge® Orange Clean for shining and protecting furniture around the house, which includes my new media console. I love how it features Allergen Trappers® to remove dust and up to 90 percent of the allergens found in dust. It definitely beautifies and enhances the appearance of hard surfaces leaving a fresh scent!

Part of my pre-Thanksgiving cleaning ritual includes using Scrubbing Bubbles® Fantastik® for general purpose cleaning. It has a powerful antibacterial solution that cuts through the center of grease and grime, dissolving on contact while disinfecting the area. It saves me time because of it’s no rinse solution! I clean my stove, counters and even microwave with it.

Be on the lookout for Pledge® product promotions on display in Home Depot stores 11/1/17 through 1/31/18!

Speaking of my cleaning my media console, if you’ve been following me on my Instagram Stories @sengersonhome, you may have noticed my huge NEW media console. I’ve been using Pledge® Lemon Clean on the sealed wood to beautify the hardwoods. Since it is so massive, I also needed something proportionate to decorate around my television. While I won’t reveal the media console in this post yet, I wanted to give you a sneak peek at what is going around it – a super easy DIY scroll art with kraft paper. I’m so excited to have something seasonally decorated for our guests this fall!

I’ve seen this wall art on a few of my favorite home decor blogs, so I wanted to try it out myself. Seriously, this project is so simple! You can change up the words for the season.

Since I won’t be revealing my media console on this post, I wanted to show you what it looked like against my front door. Isn’t it cute? It’s so easy to make too. I have zero skills in beautiful calligraphy, so this is a fake out for calligraphy.

kraft paper (or brown wrapping paper)
twine
craft cutting machine
black matte vinyl decal
transfer tape

Directions for DIY Kraft Paper Scroll Art

First, measure your kraft paper and figure out the dimensions you want it to be.

Next, design your word art that you want to print on your craft cutting machine. If you are thinking about using stencil paper, don’t! I tried going that route, but the stencil stuck to the paper. don’t waste your material.

Cut your word art out with your craft cutting machine. Remove the vinyl around the lettering very carefully.

Use the transfer tape to transfer the decal smoothly to the kraft paper.

Pull the twine through the kraft paper tube. Tie it together! To stick it to the wall, use a removable adhesive hooks that holds the weight of the kraft paper.
