This SUMMER I’m so excited to finally to venture out with my four kids BY MYSELF. This time last year, I felt like we were all cooped up because I had a newborn – and well, life was cray cray. This year, it’s still cray cray, but the little one is ONE-YEAR-OLD and we are going to be hitting up the pool, nature trails and doing some fishing!

Once baby girl starts walking, you can bet our family will be actively participating in the outdoors more than we ever have! Especially with our gardening in full force, the husband has us every day going out to admire his green thumb, and the kids especially enjoy it when he sprays them with the garden hose.

Right before summer activities start, I often pack a clothing set, wipes, diapers, water bottles, natural bug spray and hypoallergenic sunscreen in multiple places.

I love using AVEENO® Baby CONTINUOUS PROTECTION Sunscreen Lotion with Broad Spectrum SPF 50 because it can nourish and protect the entire family with its effective and natural solution with 100% mineral sun blockers.

Picking up the twin pack at Walmart with the Ibotta offer for $5 off gives me an additional savings and stock up supply for each kid! At the beginning of summer, I normally stock up for all my kids for summer camp, daycare, sports and our family trips!

Here are a few free things you could do with the kids you can do basically anywhere!

Nature Walk. You can go on a nature walk with the kids. Find your local conservation agency and look up nature trails around your city or town. Hint: If you google family photos in your city, you are bound to find pictures of cute parks people go to in order to take gorgeous family photos – which also means its a great place to hang out with the family!

Bubbles. A little dish soap and a bubble wand goes a long way. Lorelei is turning one and learning how to walk! She loves chasing bubbles around when her brothers and sisters are blowing them!

Backyard Scavenger Hunt. Our kids love doing scavenger hunts. One of my coworkers gave me a tip of writing down riddles that match the location. That way they are learning to read to each other and share in the fun!

Feed Ducks and Geese. I’m sure you have a local lake, river or park pond nearby. Our kids love feeding the birds with stale bread!

Sprinkler Run. I have a picture from each of my kids running terrified away from the sprinkler. It was their first year.

Make a Kite. Teach kids how to be resourceful, learn physics and be creative by creating their own kite!

Plant a Fairy Garden. I know this seems like a new trend in the last few years, but for a few dollars you can create a cute fairy garden outdoors – maybe even in a front patio urn that would be super cute to come home to!

Funny Home Videos. My kids are absolutely obsessed with watching other kids play on YouTube. This would be a great way to teach them how to use technology and be outdoors at the same time.

All of these activities are free or cheap and will bring loads of smiles! School is out – so what activities do you have planned for your children outdoors? Make sure you stop by Walmart to stock up on some AVEENO® Baby CONTINUOUS PROTECTION Sunscreen Lotion with Broad Spectrum SPF 50 for your babe before!
